1974 Newark FC is the East Bay’s largest premium soccer experience, serving the East Bay community since 1974. This is a community/volunteer based program where dedicated members love soccer and are focused on players developing and having fun! We have programs for players aged 4-14, with multiple development programs allowing players to grow within our soccer club. These programs include the Player Identification Program and Individual Player Clinics. 1974 Newark FC offers a year round program consisting of: Spring Season & Fall Season, Summer & Winter Turf League, Summer & Winter Camps, and a Talent ID Program.

Competitive

1974 Newark FC takes youth soccer competition to the next level. This program, designed for the most dedicated athletes aged 8-19, offers the area's most rigorous training and competition. Throughout the year, teams battle it out in top leagues like NorCal Premier, ECNL and ECNL-RL, all under the guidance of highly qualified coaches who are themselves committed to continuous learning. Selection prioritizes well-roundedness. Players need exceptional physical ability, a deep passion for the game, and a relentless work ethic. But talent is just one piece of the puzzle. 1974 Newark FC seeks team players who understand the importance of sportsmanship and representing the club with a positive attitude. This demanding program is ideal for families seeking not just to develop elite soccer skills, but also to foster emotional and ethical well-being in their young athletes.

Recreation

Instilling a love for the game while fostering teamwork and healthy habits, 1974 Newark FC's Fall and/or Spring recreation programs offer a welcoming environment for boys and girls aged 4-14. This program, run by passionate volunteers, prioritizes fun and development over fierce competition. Children are placed in age-appropriate divisions and guided by enthusiastic coaches who focus on building skills through engaging drills and scrimmages. With year-round options encompassing spring and fall seasons, 1974 Newark FC provides a flexible and inclusive space for young athletes to develop their talents, make friends, and experience the joys of soccer. Spring and Fall Recreation Seasons include weekly practice sessions with professional trainers, complimentary player photos, end of season participation awards, high-quality uniforms, an organized team experience, and much more!

Camps

Budding stars and seasoned players alike are welcome at the 1974 Newark FC's Summer or Winter camps! Our camp program includes both competitive players only events as well as open summer camp programs. Summer Open camps are open to boys and girls of all abilities, prioritize creating a fun and supportive environment where young athletes can develop their skills and passion for the game. Experienced coaches lead campers through engaging drills, exercises, and games designed to refine technique, build confidence, and cultivate a lifelong love of soccer. Beyond honing footwork and ball control, the camp emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play, fostering friendships and positive memories that will last a lifetime. The curriculum focuses on two key areas: Technique workouts, where players move beyond simply understanding a skill to confidently executing it, and Physical workouts, designed to build psychomotor skills that bridge the gap between mental commands and physical movements. By combining skill development with a focus on the beautiful game's core values, NFC camps offer a rewarding experience for young players of all levels.

Turf

Craving fast-paced action and a ton of ball touches? Look no further than the 1974 Newark FC Summer and Winter Turf program! This exciting indoor program caters to boys and girls aged 7-15 in Newark, California. Taking the field in 5v5 matches (with a maximum of 9 players per team), players experience a dynamic and high-scoring format unlike the traditional outdoor game. Full-sized futsal goals (except for the U8 division) add another layer of excitement, ensuring plenty of goal-filled moments. The program prioritizes maximizing player involvement, meaning every participant gets ample opportunity to hone their skills and develop a deep connection with the beautiful game. So, if you're looking for an energetic indoor soccer experience that emphasizes fun and scoring, the NFC Summer and Winter Turf program is the perfect fit!

Lil' Strikers

Spark a lifelong love for the beautiful game with NFC's Lil' Strikers program! Designed for energetic 3-4 year olds, this program is the perfect introduction to soccer, even for those hesitant about a full team environment. Professional trainers guide young players through engaging, kid-themed drills that make learning fun and experiential. Each session is cleverly structured, with 30 minutes dedicated to educational games that introduce basic soccer skills and another 30 minutes focused on friendly scrimmages. Let your child's imagination soar in our inflatable soccer arena, set up conveniently on top of the grass fields. With seven sessions included in registration, along with a commemorative Lil' Strikers T-shirt, this program is a fantastic way to ignite your child's passion for soccer while fostering friendships and a love of movement.

Newark Cup

Hosted by 1974 Newark FC, the Newark Cup is the result of a close working relationship with the Elementary Schools of the Newark Unified School District. Games are usually held prior to the Spring season, with each school choosing their coaching staff and forming both a girls and boys teams from their student body. Schools participating in the 2024 Spring Tournament included: Birch Grove, Coyote Hills, Kennedy Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and Schilling Elementary. If you would like your school to participate, reach-out to your school’s Athletic Director and Principal to express your interest in participating.
